Outstanding! To be P16 & later almost 10secs deficit to the leader, then nearly losing it end of lap5 to winning 🏆 Bravo Alvaro - you thoroughly deserved winning the championship
And to think he started superpole on slicks, while 95% of the field were on wets. Bautista is a worthy WC and I hope he retains the title in 2023. Bravo Bautista👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤🇮🇹
3:50 there's the slide he was on about in parcfirme after the race. Bautista of old probably would of crashed there then but now he is on another level top form best he has rode in his entire career. Looking good to do the double world championship to me for next year ✊ Vamos
Nice job on the video guys, showing it from Bautista’s POV was proper good, I don’t remember the broadcast showing his near off, making what he did even more heroic!
I believe he would have crashed but now he is riding soo well best he has ever ridden just got soo much confidence on the V4R that nothing can stop him 💯✊ Vamos
If THAT is not the ride of a Champion, I don't know what is !! Out of all that water , into turn 1, on slicks........F**k that !! One of the best on-boards I've seen in a long time 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👌.
He had amazing grip compared to the others… except on the numerous parts of the track that were totally wet, including some in the middle of fast turns like turn 1! You could see how sketched out he was in lap 1. The conditions didn’t change that much throughout the race. Alvaro just had the balls to go for it regardless. Unbelievable.
What are you on about? The track is almost completely dry half way through the race. That's how he won, he was on slicks and the conditions DID change a LOT throughout the race. lol Aaron.
@@Zach_Routhier Yeah looking back through the highlights I agree there was a lot more standing water and spray coming off the tires at the beginning of the race. There are still some slick patches on the track towards the end, and I still wouldn't wanna ride at the speeds Alvaro was doing over that stuff, but taking that risk gave him a huge advantage over the guys on wet tires.
I called it up on the grandstand. Whoever had slicks, you could see the dry line developing in the middle of the track, quick dash for tyres and most went with the intermediate. The wind was always gonna dry it up even further. A couple of lads had the full wets on and they were really chewed up at the end. Great ride by the champ
It's not that his tyre choice was clever . As much as everyone else's was just so dumb . Blues sky at Philip Island. The guy on slicks was always going to come through
In my opinion the video just shows how bad Bautista feels the bike. At the beginning hes loosing to all field in changing conditions. Then on fast drying track hes just using the advantage of a superior bike over others. I don't see anything heroic. I don't want to hurt feelings of a Bautista fans, just a Rea fan here ;)
Nothing heroic. Well, look, none of the other drivers chose to go out with tires and dry work. If you don't see anything here, then you're blind, my friend. It's even about to fall. Lately it seems that only Álvaro runs with a superior motorcycle. There are more ducatis on the track and I don't see them going as fast as he does. It will be a coincidence...
@@akusbass Ok, You got a point, tyre choice was a bit heroic :) Non of other Ducatis are as fast as Alvaro, but same @ Kawasaki and Yamaha. Only one person in each team seems to be able to extract that extra from the bike. I guess I'm a bit frustrated on the season in general: same story every race weekend - Rea and Razgatlıoglu goes at the start with Alvaro seemingly just waiting in background when the tyres goes for both of them....
Clearly you haven't watched the race, track was wet so EVERYONE went on intermediate tire set except Bautista who went on Slick, it was a HUGE gamble and initially he lost so much ground because his weight prevents him from generating heat and slicks are crazy slippery in wet, yet the track dried and he bitch slapped everyone. Obviously you're Rea fan, it shows lol.
please educate yourself?? Both Ducati and Kawasaki is restricted, V4R revs much more higher, its not an 'aDvANtaGe', its the nature of bike, you can't choke V4r just so that zx10rr could keep up, both have different power delivery and rev range, Kawasaki and Yamaha gives full power a lot more earlier than V4R, Ducati is more powerful but had to be handled carefully in corner. Although its about time every bike gets their revs back.
@@kestrel3509 You seem the one needing self-education. The V4R is set to 16100 rpm, and the ZX10R to 14600. There is an obvious advantage in power from the Ducati, quite clear on the straights. I concur that this championship has been a farce, and all set for Ducati to win. If the Ducati can rev, so does the Kawasaki; you just need a different camshaft and a few tweaks to take advantage of an extended rpm limit. Unfair regulations make for undeserved winners.
@@pdr5926 Are you fking kidding me?? Are you really this daft? A stock V4R already revs upto 16500RPM, the Zx10RR doesn't, why? because it doesn't need to, because the inline 4 can get it power a lot more earlier than V4 engine, its the nature, same goes for Yamaha, BMW and Honda. No bike need to go for 16500RPM. Its like saying that your bike should be restricted to 9000rpm cause that's how much my car can rev. stupid as shit. V4 is much powerful that's why its faster in straight, but that compromise the smooth handling that in line 4 provides, its simple, if you can tame a V4, you will be fastest and that's what Bautista is.
@@kestrel3509 Each time you post a comment you demonstrate the one daft is you and that you know very little about how an engine works on one hand, and about the regulations on the other. If you knew better you would at least remember about the insane restrictions imposed on the Kawasaki in terms of RPM decreasing over and over again until they achieved the objective. And your theory about the V4R engine needing to rev high to make power is an absolute pile of BS. If they configured the engine, even in stock trim, to rev that high, is because they built it strong enough to rev that high, always for a reason. You know about the HP formulate based on torque and RPM, don't you?

Should have switched to rear camera after overtaking Tokrap
I DON'T understand why he was the only guy on slicks? The track was 80% dry and no sign of rain. Seems like the obvious choice.
